We have planed o use ADV7182 Video Decoder device. We are using only 1 channel with CVBS input. Can you please suggest ESD protection diode to be used with ADV7182WBCPZ?
First of all the 24 Ohm series resistor will increase the chips ESD protection by limiting any surge current into the chip during the ESD hit
Second you can use diode clamping to the input signal. Clamp to AVDD with a schottkey diode. For negative ESD hit you can also clamp to ground however you need to be a bit careful. I have seen cases where the normal composite signal is shifted in the negative direction. If you use a single diode clamp than you might chop off the sync pulses. Not a good thing. You can stack a couple of diodes for negative clamping to give yourself a bit of head room.
Keep in mind 24 Ohm resistor and DC blocking cap already provide some extra protection.
Some of your reference boards do not even use ESD protection and we've not seen any problems with ESD hits on the analog inputs. But your case maybe different.
