Hi, I'm looking for a IC for solar power harvesting, 1 cell lithium battery charging support and power loading share.
Something like ADP5090 but supporting output current to system up to 600mA.
Is there any options ?
How much capacity of the battery? for the 600mA, do you mean the charging current or the discharging current to the system? ADP5090 cannot support 600mA charging current but the discharing current can be 600mA from BAT to SYS.
I was referring about current discharging. The battery is 3000mAH 1C. The 600mAh drawn will occur in periodic peeks.
I've download the datasheet and saw ADP5090 can discharge up to 800mA from BAT to SYS. great.
But ADP5090 support up to 3.6V, right ? unfortunately I can't use it because the mini solar panels that I have here produces 1W at 5V.
Last doubt, since it uses boost converters and external inductors it would be recommended for RF based remote sensor boards ?
Yes, ADP5090 can only support 3.3V. for big power solar panel like 1W, maybe you can use ADP5300 and ADP5061 to charge the battery.
I like the ADP5061, certainly I will use it in our wall adapter version, but unfortunately it doesn't have MPPT that we think its necessary to solar panel.
Anyway, I will order some 3V solar panel samples in order to test them with ADP5090.
But I would like to know about its inductors and boost converters noises. there any study about ADP5090 use in RF based systems(wifi,radio,bluetooth)? I'm worried about how much interference it could provide...
btw, there are SPICE model for ADP5061 and ADP5090?
