Effects of loading wrong si-revision on BF537

Hi All,

Does anyone know what happens if a program compiled with the wrong si-revision is loaded on a BF-537?

Specifically, I have a board in the field that I do not have physical access to. I'd like to upload a firmware update (via a network connection that is part of our hardware/firmware implementation). We are missing some records on that board and I don't know if the BF-537 is a 0.2 or a 0.3 si-revision. Will I damage the chip if I load the wrong si-version?

I now know that I can read th si-revision from a read only register (http://ez.analog.com/message/30088) and I plan to report that info via network connection in a future firmware update.

Thanks in advance.

-Matt
