Does the EVAL-AD9656 with the FMC connector interface with the Xilinx ZC706 Evaluation Kit?
As far as I know, the AD9656 is Analog Devices' only quad ADC with JESD204B outputs, whose evaluation board connects via an FMC connector, and as such would be able to interface with the Xilinx evaluation kits.
I hope your project goes well.
Thank you for your interest in AD9656.
I have not used the AD9656 evaluation board with the Xilinx ZC706, but I know of no reason why it would not work. Some have used the AD9656 evaluation board successfully with other Xilinx evaluation kits (e.g. KC705), if that helps.
Perhaps you could check with Xilinx support regarding the interface similarities/differences between the KC705 and ZC706, for additional guidance.
Thanks for the response. We are already developing applications with the AD9361 on the FMCOMMS5 board. This is an awesome capability. Based on our customer’s interest we’re trying to extend that same functionality below the 70 MHz limit imposed by the 9361 ZIF architecture. If you have any ideas we’d be interested.
Since we already have the FMCOMMS5 we will probably get the 9656 eval board and poke around. Are you interested in what we learn?
Thanks for the help

Regarding ideas for extending the FMCOMMS5 functionality below 70MHz, I'll ping some of the guys more knowledgeable about the FMCOMMS5.
I'm certainly interested in anything you learn about the AD9656 evaluation board!
AD9361 Chip is specified from 70MHz - 6GHz . For lower frequency you may have to go for a discrete front end , with a mixer and LPF for Tx and possibly an LNA + Mixer +BPF (or SAW filter) on the RX side depending on system requirements. You may also need additional synthesizer for the LO.
Thanks for this information. What I was looking for is another AD quad chip ADC that works together with the Xilinx Zynq ZC706 board. We are already investing in making a product with the 9361. Is the 9656 the right one?
Regarding the AD9656 being the right ADC, is this about the evaluation board being compatible with the ZC706, or is it about the AD9656 meeting your system requirements?
Actually I think the AD9656 will meet our requirements, I’m just asking if there’s another eval board that uses a direct quad digitizer (like the 9656) that already is setup to run with the ZC706.
