AD-FMCADC4 and external clock

Hi,

I am having problems configuring the AD-FMCADC4 board to use an external clock reference.

My setup is as follows:

1.  A 50 MHz +3dBm signal connected to J901.

2.  The FMCADC4 is plugged into a Xilinx Kintex Ultrascale board.

If I configure the AD9528 to use the on-board oscillator, then everything works.

However, when I try to configure the AD9528 to use the external reference, I get the following error message from the initialization software:

JESD204B-GT-RX[7]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[6]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[5]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[4]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[3]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[2]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[1]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

JESD204B-GT-RX[0]: Invalid status, received(0x0FFFF), expected(0x1FFFF)!

I believe that the erroneous bit is the RX_STATUS bit in the REG_RX_STATUS register.

In addition, I should note that the AD9528 status registers report the following:

Addr=0x508.  Data=0xE7

Addr=0x509.  Data=0x00

Can anyone tell me what is going on?

Thanks.
