I am using windows 7 to install the driver for AD9911 eval board but every time i connect the USB cable to my computer, it says "not successfully installed". how do i get the eval board to talk to my computer. please help
Is the board listed as an unknown device in your computer's device manager?
Also, what is the version of the software you are using?
Thank you Mark for getting back to me.
Yes, it is listed as unknown device in my computer. The version of the software i am using is version 0.0.6. This was the only one that was provided on the website (analog.com).
Kindly follow the procedure below.
NOTE: If no devices are listed then go back and complete Step 5.
I have some problems on step (e). As I selected "Show all devices...", I could not find "(Enhanced Storage Device)" in the left panel. Should I installed something else before the whole procedures?
PS: The OS is windows 10.
The "Enhanced Storage Device" is not needed.
You have to press the "Have disk.." button and another window will appear.
Many thanks for your suggestions. I followed your instructions and the driver was installed. However, I noticed some error as I opened the device manager. The error message copied from the device manager was as followed:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware because a previous instance of the device driver is still in memory. (Code 38)
The driver could not be loaded because a previous version of the driver is still in memory."
I was wondering whether it was interfered by another ADI Int-N syntheriser program and tried to uninstalled int-N synthesiser program as well. Unfortunately it did not help neither...
I also forgot to mention that I am using AD9910 evaluation board. So I supposed I should pull the W2 jumper, right?
Any comment or suggestion?
Try to answer my own question.
The error message in device manager disappered after I tried several USB ports and then backed to the same USB port which is used as the driver was installed.
Meanwhile, the EEPROM jumper for AD9910 eval board is actually W3 instead of W2. It was vaguely mentioned in the paragraph below table 3 in UG-207.
Thank you so much. hopefully this will solve my problem.
thank you for that guide. I also can not install the ad9911EVM with the 0.06 software on Windows7.
Could you please reupload the file of step one? The Link is not working for me (550 Folder/pub... not found).
I have another question if you dont mind. since i am using AD9911 eval board, i dont see the jumper to enable EEPROM. any suggestions?
The enable EEPROM jumper for the AD9911 evaluation board is W9.
Try this link: ftp://ftp.analog.com/pub/CSS/Software/Support/USB_Programmers/
Thank you, the board is working now after following the guide and installing the new software V2 (found that in the link parent folder).
