Customer use ADV7441 analog and HDMI input of ADV7441A, support both 720p@60 and 1080p@60, current power consumption is about 2w, customer want to know whether such power cosnsumption data is normal? is there any way to lower the power consumption?
2W seems a bit high for 720p. Power consumed is proportional to pixel clock rate and what modules are being used. HDMI RGB @ 165MHz worst case is only about 1.4W.
Power consumption can also be dependent on the pixel bus loading.
please give the power consumption estimate value and optimation for below input
1. Just VGA input, resoltuon is up to 1280p*800 60Hz
2. Just HDMI input, resolution is up to 1080p@30Hz
First of all ADV7441A is not recommended for New designs as per https://ez.analog.com/docs/DOC-3037.
We are strongly recommending customer use ADV7842 as replacement.
thanks, I really understand the status of ADV7441A, but to that key customers, engineer has to choose a part from AVL list, even I informed time by time ADV7441 is not recommended for new design, but ADV7441A still be used.
this question is from a old project, they have concern on the power consumption, wish has a way to optimize it.
