I've got the 'scope to work fine, and the AWG, but when it comes to the SA, just the graticules, no curves, even then I select all. Am I missing something?
Yours Simon M.
I guess this bit of information was a too far down the User's Guide but this will solve your problem:
"To update the display window for a particular tool ( when running ) the matching Time Plot, X-Y Plot, Freq Plot and/or Impedance Plot check boxes must be selected. More than one display can be selected at a time but some combinations such as X-Y and Spectrum or X-Y and Impedance would not make much sense while Time and X-Y or Time and Spectrum might."
In your case you still only had the Time Plot check box checked and not the Freq Plot check box. So the data was going to the Time display and not the Frequency display.
These check boxes will automatically be checked and unchecked when a window is opened or closed in the next version that gets up loaded to the wiki. Shouldn't be too far in the future.
Sorry for the confusion.
We need a little more information before we can possibly get to the bottom of your issue. Are you using the latest version of ALICE Desktop 1.1 or the older ALICE 1.0 tools? Which OS are you using. If you are using ALICE 1.1 on Windows are you running from the .exe executable or the Python source?
All that being said I'm not sure why you are not seeing a trace if you have selected one or both of the channels ( in the SA window not the scope window ). Maybe it's off scale? Have you tried changing the dB/div and LvL settings? You pressed the RUN button and it indicates that it is running and not stopped in the display area?
As I said, probably need more info if you don't get this working.
I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, downloaded ALICE from here
and it installed alice-desktop-1.1.exe
As you see the scale is quite wild so should expect to see something, oh yes ch A + B are shorted to each other.
Thanks for that Doug, this works a treat.
Now to get the tracking gen to work....
