Is ADL5387 a "zero-IF" mixer?

I wanted to know if ADL5387 is a zero-IF quadrature demodulator or not. I am targeting the chip for VHF application.


In my application RFIP and RFIN varies in the range: ~-30dBm to -27dBm. I was eager to know if the conversion gain provided by the mixer (4 dB) is sufficient or not. If the signal is stable than I can go for amplification if required.

What is preferred?: Amplification at RF input stage (before RFIP and RFIN) or to go for DC amplification (intended operation: zero-IF)?


I am intended in substantial change in my output response as signal varies from -30dBm to -27dBm.
