Please provide suggestions for my design layout. I have separated power components & feedback components.
Also eagle gives me dimension errors for all pins of the ADP5070 !
Cout1 GND needs to be close to the GND of the coupled inductor.
make sure you use vias to connect the GND layers together .
Layer 1: Power Components and signal routing, flood the rest with GND
Layer 2: GND
Layer3: rout VCC as at 30 mil trace and flood with GND
Layer4: Other components, signal routing
no this layout is not good. it will not work correctly.
please have a look at the web tool layout. use that as a template for your board. you will want to use a 4 layer board.
the high current paths should be copper pours not small traces.
you want to keep the current loops small.
I suggest searching the web for power supply layout app notes. this would help you tremendously.
Would this work. Still some to complete but, is this layout good enough?

HKV, it is better than the first try, however, it will not be good enough.
Look at your feedback resistors, they need to be close to the FB pin on the IC. Your comp components need to be close to the comp pin on the IC as well.
look at the layout I provided. pay attention on the high current loops of the output. the current paths needs to be short and direct.
What do you think of this layout?
This only has the top and bottom layer.
I intend to use a 4 layer board with one of the middle layers as GND and the other as VCC. Any advise on this as well?

the comp and feedback component placement looks good. can you post up your schematic? are you missing a diode on the vout1 side?
In the board, you can find the diode in between Cout1 and C1.
What do you think of the power components in my board. Are they placed well. Any recommendations?
I also have a doubt in layers.

HKV, LSP6225, check that part number again. I think is should be LPS6225.
take the LPS6225 and rotate 180* to the right so the GND of the inductor is in line with the GND on the input and output caps.
also when you are routing the feedback trace. use a trace on the opposite side of the board. one end connect to the feedback resistor and the other should be right at the output cap. you will need to use VIas.
You need to take a closer look at the other channel with the transformer. they way you have it set up right now is not good. have you figured out the current loop yet?
Could you tell me how to figure out the current loop?

As you had advised i changed the placement of the both inductors, used a 30mils trace for input power at layer 15 and flushed the rest with ground, i used layer 2 as ground and placed vias at the end of each component that is grounded (is that necessary?), and in layer 1 i placed power and feedback components and fushed the rest with ground. Bottom layer i placed the rest of the components and flushed the rest with ground.

I fabricated the design. But it is not working at all. The output is 0V.

Are all the components correctly installed?
Did you check for shorts on the board?
what happens when you apply Vin to the board? is the DUT drawing current?
what voltage is on the Vreg pin?
All Components are installed correctly as far as i can tell. Did have trouble soldering the Coupled Inductor, since i had to do it with a hot air station or soldering iron.
I did not find any shorts in the board.
The schematic is current. The board layout is not current but same.
The voltage on the VREG pin is 0.5 VDC.
VREF Pin shows 0 VDC.
The output is 0 VDC, on both terminals (+2.5VDC and - 2.5VDC).
What do you think ? Do you need more details. ?
I had made another board as well. For +/- 20 VDC. Applied all the advises you had given for the above board.
This board is not functioning well too.
It gives me 0.9 VDC and 0.1 VDC outputs.
VREG is 4.23 VDC.
On the second board, Vreg, sounds about right. do you have the feedback resistors installed correctly?

did you use the ADP5070 tool for the design and BOM?
Can you verify you have the diodes placed correctly?
what are you using to power this board?
what is the voltage on the EN pin?
Hi, I searched this forum about any post related to adp5070. And I found that there is a high possibility that the -Vout goes to 0V. Could you please check whether my design on adp5070 is correct? And in the reference design section of the datasheet ADP5070, the values are different to the one using adp5070 design tools, which one should I trust ?
