HDMI buffer 1:4

Hi All,

I am thinking of a simple concept to drive 4 hdmi output ports form one HDMI (or displayport) input. The 4 hdmi screens connected will be exactly the same (same type, same timings). Attached you can find the blockschematic of a very simple implementation to do this.

I would use a ad9381 to convert the hdmi signal to a parallel TTL video stream. This video stream would be connected to 4 hdmi drivers (4 x ad9389b). For the EDID, the system would only read the EDID from one display. Because all screens are the same, they could accept the same timings.

My concerns/problems:

  • Will i face problems with dhcp encrypted content?
  • HDMI compliance?
  • Can a ad9381 drive the inputs of 4 ad9389b hdmi transmitters?
  • Will i see timing problems due to reflection when i drive 4 1920x1080/60Hz panels with this system?
  • Is there a better way to implement this kind of system?

Thanks.
