How to build uImage for modifying linux driver?

Hi,

we build the HDL Reference Design succesfully and run through all steps to run it on linux. Now we modified the reference design with an IP core (util_dacfifo) and need to change the driver  dma-axi-dmac.c https://github.com/analogdevicesinc/linux/blob/2015_R1/drivers/dma/dma-axi-dmac.c

Therefore we need to build a new uImage included the modified driver. We are using Xilinx Vivado and SDK under Windows OS. Is there a way to build this exclusive under windows or do we need a linux virtual box to compile this?

Are there any example projects or tutorials available for this or can you give us a short instruction?

The further steps, how to create BOOT.bin, devicetree.dtb are known.

Best regards!
