Memory manipulation at runtime from IDE

I've started working with Visual DSP at my new place. A few years ago i worked on TI DSP tools so i'm kinda new here.

I'm looking for a feature similar to what was used in TI tools, called a "probe point". It works as a breakpoint, i.e. can be placed anywhere in the code, but instead of halting the processor, it offers other actions. One particularly useful, is to read data from a file on PC and write it in specific location in DSP memory. This is useful at testing when long data files are used. I've tried to see anything similar to this in VisualDSP but couldn't find it. Can anyone point me to the place i missed? or is there an alternative? I'm aware of the memory fill/dump option but it doesn't work at runtime.

Thanks a lot!
