Delayline in external memory (SDRAM)

I have a SHARC 21489 EZ-Kit. In my code I'm runing a delayline in the external SDRAM.

When I run the delay in the internal memory I need about 80 cycles for the execution.

When I run the delay in the SDRAM I need about 290 cycles for the execution. Is there

any possibilty to speed up the execution when using external memory? At the moment

I'm using the initialization of the SDRAM  from the Primes_C_from_ExternalMemory code

Kind regards,
