Is there a specific place that I should post for the "simple clock" question?
This would be the correct forum for your "simple clock" question. I would recommend posting the question separately (i.e., a new discussion).
Simpler clock is a little broad. Can you identify the primary things you would like in the clock source? Are you trying to avoid using the onboard reference clock multiplier?
I'm looking for a clock that does not take very much effort to set up or run, that would be used solely for the purpose of running the AD9915. I would rather not have to program the clock very much.
If I can use the reference clock multiplier with a slower clock and get a clean signal out, that is perfect, but if it would be beneficial to use a higher speed clock then I could invest in one of those as well. Either way, I would need the initial clock signal.
This clock would only require one output, and it would only need to output one clock speed. Is there any product that can do this for me?
We have a very large portfolio of clock and PLL devices, and I am not familiar with most of the PLLs, there might be a good choice there if you only need a single output. The AD9525 is a good option from the clock generators It will require some programming, but it will generate a very clean signal; it has more outputs than you need. You might look at some of the PLL products. It has excellent performance.
