Automated debugging

I'm wondering how to best automize my debug session.

I'm using a ADSP-21469 EZ-Board with HPUSB-ICE emulator.

What I want to do:

- load a .dxe file to the target

- change some memory locations

- set a breakpoint / watchpoint

- start the program

- run until breakpoint

(- show a specific memory location / buffer - if possible)

All by starting just one script (or using any other method besides clicking on the buttons..).

And of course place that script on a user tool button - this part is clear to me.

I've read much about scripting and so in Java or Visual Basic. Also about the legacy TCL scripting.

For me the TCL looks quite simple and sufficient for my needs.

The others and the related examples are just looking like an overkill to use them for such simple commands (load etc.).

For the TCL on the other side I did not find a full documentation of the commands nor a good example.

Any recommendations for me how and where to start?
