In most of my projects (but not in all of them), I have a projname.pcf file in the main folder. What is this file for and why it is not documented in Table A-2 of the VisualDSP++ 5.0 User's Guide?
the *.pcf file is a temporary file used to cache the project dependencies. This is done to reduce the build times of larger projects where dependency checking may be time consuming. Prior to the introduction of this method, the IDDE would update the dependencies every time the project was rebuilt.
As for why it is not documented; this may be an oversight - I'll check - or it may be that it was a deliberate omission; users do not need to be concerned with the contents of this file, and should never have need to edit or inspect it. I'll let you know what I find.
Thaks, Craig. Ot of the various files in the table, there are a few more that should not be edited/inspected. For completeness of the table, I'd suggest this to be added.
