As we know there are two RX channels in AD9361, Does the two Rx channels share the same " Full Gain Table" or has its own independent gain table?
The gain table is shared. However, gain controls for the two Rx channels are independent.
I am using SFC eval board with ADI 9361 chip, with CW tone Pin ~-60dBm I am getting around -11dBFS(using ADI IIO scope software spectrum analyzer function) with manual gain at 63dB, is this correct? What is the correct dBm I should be getting?
You would have to know the loss before the part to be able to tell what the signal level should be at the Rx output.
The ADC full scale is 0.625Vpk (0dBFS), so knowing that, the input loss, gain setting and input signal level you should be able to estimate the signal level in dBFS at the output.
Including the cable loss + trace loss here is my calculation:
Freq in = 5503MHz
Output tone at rx = 3MHz
dBFs displayed(3MHz tone) on ADI IIO software with Fs=10MHz: -10dBFs (~0.2Vpk?) based on 0.625 full scale at 0dBFs.
calc dBm=10*LOG((0.2^2)/(100*(0.001))) = -3.9dBm + 2dB(loss) = ~-2dBm
**Assuming ADI chip LNA impedance is 100Ohm differential per 1mW power.**
Let me know if the calculation is correct. If not please advise the correct equation..
