VisualDSP++ corruption

When I start Visual DSP++ I get an error

"Failed to create memory window because the following memory type does not exist in the target hardware Data(DM) memory"

Visual DSP++ will start after this error but I can not connect to a session I get the following error

"An invalid argument was encountered"

I get the same error when I try to exit VisualDSP++.

To kill the application, I have to go to windows task manager and kill the application, which still generates the invalid argument error but does also kill the application.

I am using VisualDSP++ v5.0 with update 9, running on Windows XP.

My target is Sharc21469. The problem started when I powered off my target hardware(custom board) before closing the connection. I have done this many times before and got the standard JTAG can't talk to the hardware errors, but Visual DSP++ has not been corrupted before and has restarted OK.

Are there any files that can easily be repaired that would cause this error or do I need to go for a re-install.
