Max input voltage of AD8253 if limiting input current?

Table 3 in AD8253 ds specifies the absolute max input voltage as high as +/-Vs. On the other hand the data sheet describes input protection and allows "voltages greater than 0.5V beyond either supply rail" if input current is limited to below 6mA. Does it mean that input voltage can exceed value specified in absolute max rating table if the input current is limited to below 6mA??

The strange thing is that there is no note below the table which could allow this, like it is in Ad8429 for example.
