I have a question.
Is there any device that can convert I2S audio signal to TDM signal and vice versa.
*When DSP does not have enough number of I/F, I need that kind of converter if you have.
Not exactly like you are looking for. The only thing I could think of to do that is the ADAU1442 which is a DSP. It has a lot of serial inputs and has eight stereo ASRCs to handle different sample rates. It then can collect the data into a TDM stream and send it out of a serial port. All without using the DSP. However, the DSP in this part is probably more powerful than the one you are using so this is not a solution for you.
I am not sure which parts you are using so give me some more details. Some of our parts are able to insert data onto a TDM stream only during certain slots and tri-state when it is not needed. So multiple parts can share the same TDM bus. Then for the other case where you have TDM and want it to send data to several other parts, then those parts may be able to read only two slots off of the TDM bus. Not all of our parts can do this. This is a relatively new feature so older parts will not have the capability. I think you are using the AD1938 and that part will not do that.
It may be the solution to change to a different DSP like the 1442. Give me some more detail and see if we can come up with a solution for you.
Thank you so much for your suggestion.
This device selection is for another project.
I will take this device into my consideration.
