You are referring to latency. Max latency = 1.5*tile time. Tile time is how long it takes for you to get data into the ADV212. Typical is closer to 1.2* tile time.
I'm still a bit confused about the time delay of the ADV212 in encode mode. As you said before "Tile time is how long it takes for you to get data into theADV212".
I'm feeding a PAL video stream to the ADV212 in HIPI mode, so I have 25 frames per second, and i will get a whole frame on the ADV212 every 40 msec, the transfer of a PAL frame (576x720, 4:2:2) to the ADV internal menory takes about 17 msec.
What delay should I expect? I think that the Max time delay that I will measure will be 17 * 1.5 msec, is this correct?
HIPI mode is a little different since there is no defined timing on the input-- it's still the PAL timing though. I assume you are feeding a field at a time so the "tile time" in your case is 20msec. Max delay would be 20 * 1.5msec.
In practice, it'll probably be closer to 17*1.5 msec or less though.
