ADI has a good video decoder as like ADV7441, ADV7842 with analog and digital receiver. I'm wonder they can output multiple images simultaneouly by multiplexed or non-multiplexed mode. I should design 4 channel capture (2 HD, 2SD).
These devices can output only one stream of video data.
Then, is there any multi-stream output decoder with CVBS, Component HD, HDMI input ?
In general, I'd say no. There are several reasons why dual decode/outputs won't be common.
1) The first reason is thermal issues. If I turn on two complete video stream paths within the IC then I'll be generating twice the heat which leads to thermal management issues.
2) Double outputs imply double the output pins for the output paths increasing the package size and cost. Generally customers don't like bigger or costlier parts.
Of course I could be wrong about chips supporting multiple paths being available but I don't know of any.
