I have a question about "Advanced Cipher" in the HDMI products.
1. What is the parts-number of HDMI-RX devices that supports "Advanced Cipher"?
2. How to use the "Advanced Cipher" on HDMI Rx products?
HDMI parts are HDCP 1.4 compliant. What specification are you referring to when you state 'Advanced Cipher'?
The purpose of the question is for the compliance test of HDCP.
I refer to the following documents.
However, how to respond to "Advanced Cipher" is not found in HDMI RX device.
Thank you for your teachings.
The answer appears to be 'no' on the ADV7619. This feature is optional within the HDCP spec. See post 5 in this thread.
Thank you for answer.
However, there are several different answers, I am confused.
a) valid: DaveD 2013/01/15 14:55
b) no: raymondcarter 2013/01/07 6:31
c) no: GuenterL 2015/11/12 11:12
d) unknown: UG-237 2014/02/13 Rev.C
"ADI HDMI RX product does not support the Advanced Cipher"
"ADI does not support the optional features that are not specified in the document "
Is these correct ?
'raymondcarter' is the ultimate authority on this part and his answer was no.
As Raymond stated the ADV7619 does not support Advanced Cipher. We would have to check other parts to see if they implemented the receiver HDCP handling differently.
Whether we support optional features or not are defined during chip specification which is dependent on market/customer requirements.
