Other ADI parts explicitly state True HD compatability (ADV7612 for example), and this one does not.
On ADV7611 HBR audio can be received and can be detected, but cannot be processed and thus cannot be output on ADV7611.
ADV7611 is targeted toward portable apps and lacks some pins (including 3 of the 4 i2s outputs) that the ADV7612 and even AD9889B have.
ADI recommends ADV7612 for these applications even when only one of the two available HDMI ports is needed.
It is generally rare that one would want to receive HBR audio but only standard depth color that ADV7611 is designed for, with its limited pins.

do i understand correctly that it's still possible to receive multi channel audio by using TDM mode? also, what is being output through I2S when compressed audio such as AC3 or dolby digital is received?
TDM mode on ADV7611 can give you 8 channels of PCM with a sampling frequency up to 48Khz. I suppose it's possible it could pass through other formats if they fit in the channel but it's not something that would be specified or guaranteed for ADV7611.
