I have a question on the initial settling behaviour of the SRC.
I have connected two custom DSP boards by an AES signal that is, the DSP on the first board is sending an AES signal to the DSP on the second board which runs this signal through an SRC. The DSPs are ADSP 21469.
The latency of the SRC in the second board is compensated by a delay in the first board. I get the two signals as close to eachother as about a half sample at 48 kHz.
When I measure the impulse responses of both boards, I can see the initial settling of the digital servo loop of the SRC.
However, in very rare cases, it happens that the remaining distance between the two signals is larger. That is, the SRC behaves differently this time and produces a higher latency of about 1 sample.
Is there any explanation for this behaviour? Or any means to detect or cope with it?
