Customer is looking for the USB driver for AD9956 evaluation board.
Customer has a 32bit Window XP machine, so it should work but windows can't find the USB driver (Cypress USB chip).
Ref case file F15JT0193.
I believe you have given enough information. The software on the website is to an old link. We are having that corrected. In the meantime, please download the 2.0.0 version of software from here and run the installer. If the new software does not find the driver, please follow the instructions in the attached file, 'DriverGuide.mht', to associate the driver with the evaluation board.
Note: You can check the hardware ids of a usb device without a driver associated with it, but it will be listed as 'unknown device' in the device manager.
I need to know two pieces of information.
1) What version of software is the customer using.
2) What are the hardware ids of the evaluation board the customer has. This can be found by opening Device Manager, right clicking the device, then selecting properties. In the Details tab, select 'Hardware Ids' from the Property drop down box.
The software was recently updated for 64-bit compliance and my guess is they have the new firmware on their evaluation board, but have installed the old software or vice versa.
The PCB says REV E and the AD Pack date on the box was Aug 13, 2105. It was purchased from Digikey.
There was no CD-ROM in the evaluation kit so I had to download the latest SW from the ADI website - which I did.
This is the name of the zip file: 160581536AD9957_EvalSoftwareSetup0.1.1.zip
How can I check the hardware ID of the evaluation board when the USB can't communicate with the board???
My problem is that the windows XP does not recognize the evaluation board.
If you have done new software then it should be backward compatible to the older hardware.
Hello - thanks for this. The new software and guide sets up the driver correctly so that we can connect and communicate with the development board.
Note, the software on the web site is being updated
I am having the same problem communicating with the AD9956 evaluation board from my computer (which is a 64bit windows 7 pc). I have installed the 2.0.0 version of software but still had no luck. Would you be able to reupload the file "DriverGuide.mht"? The link appears to be broken.
I just tried the link and it worked for me. Here is the direct URL please try this: https://ez.analog.com/servlet/JiveServlet/download/225357-1-38322/DriverGuide.mht
Hey, sorry for the late responce. That did end up working for me. Thank you for your help.
