I have a question.
I am creating my own board using ADAU1452
I am trying to self-boot ADAU1452 from E2PROM in I2C mode.
At the same time I am using USBi.
Can they use the same I2C line?
Sorry I am just now getting to your question.
The USBi is usually connected to the slave communication port on the 1452 and the EEPROM is connected to the master port. This will prevent the clash.
If you have the USBi connected to the Master port so you can talk to the EEPROM, then yes, they can share but you have to let the DSP fully bootup before trying to use the USBi. Then you also have to make sure there are no EEPROM writeback functions turned on that would keep the master port active. Normally, it tri-states after booting.
I understand that the USBi is always master and EEPROM is always slave! This is why we have to connect as you mentioned! I am now clear about this!
