Is it possible to load a DSP version in a BIN file (just like LDR\Hex files) via Standalone Flash Programmer?
I know this option is available using VisualDSP++ flash programmer tool.
I'm using BF512 processor.
what kind/type of standalone flash prg do you use ?
hex-files should never be a problem for any programmer.
I'm using the AD vbs script example -
...Analog Devices\VisualDSP 5.1.2\Blackfin\Examples\Scripting Examples\SAFP\BF537_SAFP.vbs
The script works fine with LDR\Hex file, however I need it to be loaded with a BIN file.
I don't know exactly if this is a real standalone programmer (useable without a valid VDSP installation)
if so - thanks for the post, I have not known this script.
thought that you would use a third party flash programmer.
Concerning your bin-file:
how is this generated, programmer need LDR-files (if it should bootable) because there is additional info stored how the sections should be loaded (internal RAM, ext. SDRAM ....)
So we use a "bin-file" which is extracted from the flash content and this is usable in any programmer.
there is a hint in the SAFP/readme.txt file for more info about ADspSAFP-API
VisualDSP++ uses a loader (*.ldr) file to program to the board and the Flash Programmer utility is designed to work with VisualDSP++-generated loader files only. Having said that I'm not sure how this bin file was created, if it is via the GCC tools, then it would be possible to program the board with the bin file using uboot. This is something that you would need to get help at the following community:
