SPI Codec Driver

I am in the process of trying to port the usb audio example for the ezkit bf526 to a custom bf525 board. Due to the large dependancy on system services, I was hoping to make changes to the generic BF52xC1 codec driver to allow for the register/value differences in our codec. Unfortunately, I realized that the format for writing to the codec requires a 24 bit data stream (0x9E-ADDR-DATA) before toggling CS, instead of the 16-bit (ADDR-DATA) stream found in most ADI codecs. Could anyone tell me what changes should be made so that I can make to handle this SPI communication format with minimal changes to the USB audio project?
