What is the difference between ADV7511 and ADV7511P?
ADV7511 contains internal HDCP keys
ADV7511P does not contain HDCP keys.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any additional questions.
Matt’s answer is correct. If you are starting a new design, we would suggest you use the “without P” part. We can ship these to customers who are not HDCP adopters. TX parts cannot be used to decrypt protected content.
So either part will work the same for non-HDCP (i.e. DVI) applications?
I think we can disable the HDCP , in this case will both ADV7511 and ADV7511P ouput in the same way .
Or will the ouput of ADV7511 is aways HDCP keyed .
Application note AN-1143 says details with regards to disabling .
You can turn off encryption with a register bit making 7511 and 7511P the same, yes. It's register 0xAF bit 7-- 1 is encrypted and 0 is unencrypted.
