ref clock of AD9552 is 52MHz

Hi,

 

i am using a 20 MHz crystal and was able to program and get the lock and required frequencies from the chip.

now we need to connect a 52 MHz clock to the REF# pin of the chip. I applied 52MHz CMOS clock with a  0ohms resistor to REF pin.

some how I was not successful in supplying the clock of 52MHz. one chip I see a short of the xtal_in and xtal_out pins. another chip I saw the power supply short. I end up in replacing the chip twice now. A0, A1, A2, Y0,Y1,Y2,Y3,Y4,Y5 pins are left floating. Xtal_IN and Xtal_out are left floating. is there anything I am doing a mistake so that the chip is getting damaged?

please reply if my procedure is correct.

what should be the clock amplitude for the REF on the max side?
