Will there be support for u-boot and Linux for the ARM-A5 for this part? (ADSP-SC589)
Yes. Support for u-boot and Linux for the ARM-A5 will be available. You can check for the below information on our web:
I have copied the details about the Linux support here:
Embedded Linux Support for ARM® Cortex®-A5 core
Hope this helps.
I have just purchased the ADSPSC589 development board with 1year CCES license.
Will Linux be included for a fee as CESS plugin or something like that?In case of, I guess it will come at least with a matched 1year license as CCES comes...
Or even better at no extra cost? ;D
Linux will be provided as an CrossCore Embedded Studio Add-In.
There will be no licensing cost for the Linux Add-In.
Any estimated release date??I am waiting to activate my license

What is the status of the linux distribution for the SC589 at the moment? Is it well supported by ADI, is it available, and what are the main issues with it? To figure out whether we can use the SC589 we need to understand what the situation is with linux support.
Please also ask your sc58x Linux relevant questions on the Linux community Linux for ADSP-SC5xx processors .
