based on the output spectrum observed at the DAC's analog outputs, I would like to reduce the amplitude/power of the common-mode/2nd harmonic spurs. Is this possible?
These spurs can typically be attenuated when the DAC outputs are passed through either a 1:1 RF wideband transmission line Balun or a center-tapped transformer (that also acts as a differential-to-single-ended converter). Both common-mode disturbances and even-order distortion can be suppressed uisng them.
The ETC 1-1-13 E Series RF 1:1 Transmission Line Transformer (M/A Com) works up to 3GHz and meets the needs of majority of the applications.
