Hi there,

I bought a Panasonic PT-AE-2000 video projector with a ADV-7495BBSTZ-170 video decoder on the mainboard.

The HDMI inputs are defect the projector detects no signal on all of the 3 HDMI inputs.

All of the other video inputs work fine (Component / VGA / S-VIDEO... ).

Here you can see a top view of the chip and the connections to the HDMI ports.

I bought a new chip in ebay that differs a little bit to the original one.

I would change them but I'm unsure if the new chip pinnings would fit to the old ones (couldn't find any datasheets of them).

I don't know if it's only the chips fault but I found some other persons with the same HDMI problem.

They said their HDMI got broken by pulling out and putting in the HDMI plugs to much times with running/active sources and activated projector.

So maybe the chip didn't survive the voltages during pulling and putting.

I added a service manual of the projector where you can find the circuit of the mainboard on page 49.

Please tell me if you have any suggestions about my broken HDMI or the possible difference between the old and new chip.

Greetings Alex.
