260MHz sine carrier with a 130MHz Amplitude Modulation

Hello everybody,

I need to emit a 260MHz sine signal, which is amplitude modulated with 130MHz. Can I do this with a high-speed-DAC at all? Or is it even better to use an analog mixer for this purpose (260MHz carrier * 130MHz Amplitude)?

I guess I would need a 520MHz clock together with 4x interpolation for the DAC (+ filter to suppress images). Would this mean 2080 MSPS for the DAC?

Could anyone please comment on the feasibility of the DAC-approach?

Thank you!
