VDK Threads In 2 Projects

I would like to use thread functions ( such as VDK::Sleep() ) in my code.  I have a projects group set up with two projects.  The main application project is compiled with the -threads option.  cpp files in the main project are able to use any of the VDK thread API.  However, I cannot access the threading API from my other project (the project output type is "Library").  Even if I add the option -threads I have no luck.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to get into this situation.  Is there a good way to get around this so I can call Sleep() or Push/PopCriticalRegion() from libary code?
