Adjusting the DDS output amplitude

Can the reference voltage input or the fsadjust pin be used to adjust the amplitude of the sinewave from full scale all the way down to 0.0mA output?

I've seen the fsadjust app note but it shows "a 75% x Vref dac output" waveform and it's 1/2 of full scale (I would expect 1/4 of full scale).  That makes me think fsadjust can't be used to reduce the amplitude to zero (or it's a typo).

Can the DDS parts that have Vrefs have the reference voltage reduced to zero?

Side note: I need to get a demo board to try this stuff out but the docs all show they use parallel ports to run them.  No can do.  None of the pc's around here have parallel ports.
