ad9361 tx quad cal recommended procedure -vs- driver implementation

There appears to be a discrepancy between the selection criterion for the Tx Quadrature Calibration between AD9361 Transmit Quadrature Calibration (Tx Quad Cal) and the Linux IIO ad9361 driver.

 

In the test procedure document, the recommendation is to cycle through all 32 Rx phase offset values, record the carrier and image levels, and select the middle phase offset value that minimizes both levels.

 

The current Linux IIO driver for the ad931/4 loops through all 32 Rx phase offset value, records which values populate the calibration convergence register, and selects the middle phase offset value that converged.

 

Is this guaranteed that the same phase offset chosen through either method is the same?
