Test Tone sine wave on ADAS1000

I am using SPI to communicate the data from the ADAS to a K53 eval board.

I have configured the device to give out a sine wave according to example 4 in the ADAS1000 datasheet. Otherwise, my communication is working fine - I see the 0x11, 0x12 and so on registers when I write to FRAMES (0x40). But the data that I get, when I plot, is just noise. Is there anything I have to set in hardware before I get the sine digital data? Am I wrong is assuming that the board is giving the sine wave and converting it to digital format?
