Slow data memory dumping and plotting in VisualDSP++

I'm using VisualDSP++ 5.0 Update 9 to develop for SHARC 21469 (using the EZ-kit and HPUSB emulator) and am experiencing painfully slow dumping and plotting of data memory. E.g. (in VisualDSP++) when building the project, and then selecting "Memory / Dump ..." from the menu and choosing "Memory: Data(DM) Memory", "Format: Signed Integer" and "Count: 40000", the actual dumping takes ~14 seconds, but if I dump from "Memory: Program(PM) Memory" it is almost instantaneous. Why is the dumping from data memory so slow? The behaviour is also similar when plotting data located in data memory (extremely slow) vs. data located in program memory (fast).

I have previously been working with BlackFin and have been dumping several megabytes of data almost instantaneously, so I'm a bit concerned now when working with SHARC that the same procedure takes several minutes...
