"Style" vs "Video Input Justification" in ADV7513

I'm a little confused about the difference between choosing a style associated with an Input Data Mapping (tables 16 - 21 in the Programming Guide) and the Video Input Justification register (0x48) on the ADV7513.

For example, I'm working on a design with 8-bit BT.656 video. I've connected D0 - D7 on the 7513, so I've chosen Style 2 and Input ID 4 from Table 18. Once I've chosen the style, however, what is the physical meaning of register 0x48? According to the Input Data Mappings, it seems like the data justification is already specified when selecting a style. Register 0x48 seems to conflict that. Am I misunderstanding something?
