There are a number of reset strategies available for selection in EWARM for a Cortex-M3 based device.
What are these, and what is the recommended reset strategy for my ADuCRF101?
There are a few low level ways to reset a Cortex-M3 based part.
There are also bits which specify that the Cortex HALTs immediately after the reset, without executing any code.
The selections in the Debugger map to various usages of these capabilities.
It is important that the option selected does not interfere with the start-up calibration of the part, but yet reset the part effectively.
Therefore, you should select the “Halt After Bootloader” option shown above for any of the ADI Cortex-M3 based parts.
The minimum version of IAR EWARM Workbench that you should be using is one of the V6 releases as this support appeared from that version on.
The other types MAY work but are not recommended.
