I need to send bt656 (ntsc) video in a wireless aplication; the rf transceiver has around 1Mbit/seg throughput. Is ADV212 suitable for this or I need a better compressor? thanks in advance for your help.
Using the 9/7 wavelet should give you the best quality for the bit rate in most cases but there is nothing else especially suited to lower bit rates.
ADV212 allows you to set the output bitrate arbitrarily, so below 1Mbit/s is certainly doable.
Thank you very much! So I can use the ADV212 for my aplication. I would like to ask you another question. I see that setting the RCTYPE and RCVAL registers, I can set the output rate. If I use the JDATA mode, the VALID signal will go synchronically with this bitrate?, I mean, if I set 1Mbps in the mentioned registers, will I have a 125Khz in the VALID signal?
No, the valid signal has nothing to do with the RCVAL. The data out is very bursty... it will all come out as fast as possible when it's ready and then there will be nothing until the next frame is ready.
Thank you very much! I see that all modes are simmilar, otherwise which one would be more appropiate to use with bitrate as low as 1Mbps.
Thank you Dave!
