We want to control ADV7511 with DVP software on EVAL-ADV7842-7511.
Anyone, please let us know how to access ADV7511 on EVAL-ADV7842-7511.
The scripts in the DVP software for EVAL-ADV7842-7511 will configure the ADV7842 and the ADV7511.

We want to really read/write register of ADV7511 like ADV7842 on DPV software.
We think if there is some python file for ADV7511 like ADV7842 in DVP software folder on PC we can read/write the registers.
Is my understanding correct? Please give us your idea. Thank you.
The DVP software for the EVAL-ADV7842-7511 currently comes with many scripts which configure (i.e. write) registers on the ADV7842 and the ADV7511.
This software also displays all of the registers for the ADV7842 and allows the user to read/write the individual bit fields. Unfortunately, there is no similar functionality for the ADV7511 (since this device was only recently made public). I believe the next version of this software will support this. In the mean time, if you would like to configure the ADV7511 differently than the scripts provide, you can exit the DVP software and use the RS232 command prompt to read/write the registers as you please.
I just got EVAL-ADV7842-7511 board today and download/install DVP software from your EngZone, however while I was running DVP software, ADV7842 is always in "Board Disconnected" state, I have installed USB driver and have a USB cable connected to my PC, any idea what's the problem?
Also XRC software quick start guide says that I can select "Driver" menu option in menu bar, but I didn't see such option at all
The DVP software that is currently on the support page for this board (XRC_EVAL-ADV7842-7511_20101203.zip) only supports communication via RS232 port (P2).
I would suggest the following approach:
1. Open a RS232 communication program and verify that you can communicate with the EVAL-ADV7842-7511 hardware/software using 115200,8,N,1.
2. Close the RS232 communication program to free up the COM port.
3. Open DVP application and select ADV7842 as the input device.
After a few minutes you should see "Board Disconnected" Red circle change to "Board Connected" Green circle.
I'm not sure about the "driver" menu option. Are you looking at the user's guide for EVAL-ADV7842-7511 or one of the other evaluation platforms?

It turns out that I have to disconnect the USB port too, otherwise it auto-switches to USB port.
As for the “driver” menu option, it was mentioned in “XDC Software Quick Start Guide.pdf”, which is in the same folder of DVP software after installation, I think this is an outdated document.
You are correct - this document "XRC Software Quick Start Guide.pdf" is outdated and does not fully apply to this evaluation board.

I have another question on DVP Evaluation software. When I ran the software, some registers have yellow background and some have white, do you know what color code meaning is?
The bits are color-coded:
* yellow background = read only
* white background = read/write
