What is the System Demonstration Platform ( SDP)?
The System Demonstration Platform, SDP, is ADI’s newest evaluation platform. It comprises of controller boards, interposer boards, daughter boards and 3rd party boards.
The SDP-B ,B for Blackfin, is a controller board with a USB 2.0 connection to the PC and two identical 120 pin connectors. It is based on the Blackfin ADSP-BF527.The 120 pin connectors expose the Blackfin peripherals most commonly used in ADI component interfaces. These include SPI, SPORT, I2C, GPIO, Asynchronous Parallel, PPI and Timers.
Daughter boards are a list of Circuits from the Lab reference circuit evaluation boards and component evaluation boards that connect to the SDP controller boards. A full list of these boards can be found on www.analog.com/sdp.
The SDP Breakout Board is an interposer board. It can sit between the SDP and a daughter board allowing the user to monitor the signals on the 120 pin connectors.
Can i consider , BF527 on the SDP acts as interface(Data in port : PPI , SPI etc output USB)between the test device and PC .
Does BF527 do some processing on the input data .
With best regards and wishes
