Preprocessor fails with pragma

Normally you can do things like this with preprocessor

#define BUFFERLENGTH 128 in a .h file

          and then write code such as

                    for (int count = 0; count < (4 * BUFFER_LENGTH); count++)

Have noticed that the preprocessor gets confused with pragmas

#pragma loop_count(BUFFERLENGTH, (4*BUFFERLENGTH), 32)

and you must use

#pragma loop_count(BUFFERLENGTH, 512, 32)
