I would like to know if 21469 is byte addressable ?
We use a 21469 in our work and have had to deal with the non-byte addressable aspects. For us, the most difficult issue is getting a sequence of bytes from a port, reading them into 32-bit chars, and then reconstructing the underlying data formats such as int, float, or double. I have attached a few examples of routines that accomplish that objective for us; the routines work on the SHARC, Blackfin, and TigerSHARC. Simply call the routine with the char array at the correct array index.
The smallest unit of memory that can be accessesed on ADSP-21469 is 16 bits wide. For more details on the memory architecture, I would suggest you to refer SHARC programming reference manual.
Please let me know if you still have further doubts.
