When I try to install isualDSP++5 I get this eror message:
The application failed to initialize properly (oxc0000005).
My PC is running a Windows-XP.
This error is due to a problem with the computer where the software is being installed. It is not related to the VisualDSP++ software as the error occurs before any of the installer code is allowed to execute.
Here is a discussion on the MSDN message board for users who had the same error code for different programs:
Some common causes of this problem were:
1) A particular version of Symantec anti-virus program
2) Haxdoor virus on user's machine
I hope this information helps you to fix the problem.
Thanks for your email it fixed my installation problem.
Can you please help me with below problem too:
Please see attached VisualDSP++5 compiler error log and related source
files. I don't have problem with VisualDSP4.5 to compile this project.
I believe that you are receiving this build error due to already having a function 'min' that matches the name of a function in the builtins.h header file. The specific line at which your build fails is line 410, where there is a definition for the builtin function 'min()'.
You should either remove your own definition, or alternatively disable these builtin short names altogether using the Compiler switch '-no-builtins', which should be added to the Additional Options under Project Options: Compile: General, or on a case by case basis using the preprocessor define __DISABLE_NAME, e.g. " __DISABLE_MIN", under Project Options: Compile: Preprocessor.
If you are still having problems please can you provide us with a copy of your ProductInfo.html file which is available from the Help file menu within the VisualDSP++ idde, together with a complete copy of your project.
Modifying your source to avoid these standard names like min and max for variable names is probably the best solution.
