Is there a Flash driver available for MT29F2G08AABWP flash to be used in flash programming utility in VDSP ?
I have my code in VDK which i need to burn in the flash and boot directly from there.
Unfortunately we do not have flash programmer drivers for NAND Flash parts. While the Flash Programmer Utility can be used to program NAND parts there are a couple of caveats. Firstly, be aware that programming will be slow compared to regular flash parts.
The second, more important caveat, is that the Flash Programmer Utility has no knowledge of bad block management. This management is typically handled by a file system, which is very different to the NOR flash parts supported by the Flash Programmer Utility.
So, it would be possible to program your NAND Flash part using our Flash Programmer Utiliriy with an appropriate driver, but be aware that it will make no account for bad blocks.
So .... if i use u-boot to burn the vdk dxe convrted to ldr to burn into NAND and set the boot mode to boot from NAND. it should work , right ?
Would i be required to change any parameters in "Project Options" for VDK before creating a Burn-able image ?
I'm not familiar enough with uBoot to know whether that would work or not. If uBoot has a valid driver to program the NAND, and supports booting the loader format you choose I would expect it to work.
You will need to change your Project configuration to produce a Loader file, then configure the options under 'Project Options: Load' to setup your project appropriately for your target. I would recommend taking a look at the "Readme" file for one of the Power-On Self Test examples for the EZ-KIT Lites, as these provide step-by-step instructions for setting up your project. While these settings are specific to the EZ-KIT Lite, they will provide a good starting point for configuring your project.
